Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement

Anales de Investigación en Arquitectura is highly committed to the quality of the contents it publishes, the integrity of the research processes that give rise to these works, the ethical aspects, and the good practices in scientific publishing. These academic integrity criteria affect its Editorial Board, Scientific Committee, authors, referees, and production team.

Journal is governed by the principles established in the Singapore Statement on Research Integrity in which the following aspects stand out: honesty, in all aspects and processes of scientific research and editing; rigor and compliance with the regulations established for the performance of research and editorial work; appreciation of the work of others; care and respect for all participants of the research, evaluation and editing processes.

Considering the above, Anales de Investigación en Arquitectura states:

1. Editorial policies for authorship and contributions

Manuscripts submitted for evaluation in the Anales de Investigación en Arquitectura journal must be original and unpublished and must not have been postulated nor be under evaluation in another publication or other means of dissemination.

At the time of starting the evaluation process, all co-authors must accept the conditions described in the Submissions section for publication. Said statement must be signed by each of the authors who will identify their contribution according to the taxonomy implemented by CRediT Taxonomy.

The articles may originate from theses, conference papers or may be available as research documents in institutional, thematic or general repositories. However, they will not be considered unpublished if they have been previously published as a chapter of a digital book or printed in a monograph with multiple authors.

In the event that an article originates from a thesis, communication to a conference or other type of research, the authors are requested to include an explanatory note in which they mention the first place in which the manuscript was presented. In no case may the manuscript keep the same title of its first version.

Manuscripts will only be received through the Open Journal System platform and from that moment on they will be identified with a random number assigned by the system. They will then be reviewed by the editorial team to determine compliance with the criteria indicated in the Guidelines for Authors and a review about anonymity will be carried out in the files and anti-plagiarism with the Turnitin tool. After that, expert peers will begin the evaluation and depending on the result they will decide whether the manuscript should be published or not. This process is carried out with the idea that anonymity between authors and evaluators is protected at all times.

Before the publication of articles, all authors must complete the Author Responsibility Document in which they include their identification, authorship contribution, roles in the work process and they assign their rights for publication in Anales de Investigación en Arquitectura.

Contribution of the authors according to the CRediT Taxonomy

In the manuscripts of two or more authors, the identification of the contributions of each of them is requested in order to maintain academic integrity and to reduce the possibility of disputes or conflicts of authorship. This information will be included in the Authors Responsibility Document and it is possible that a single author fulfills several roles simultaneously. According to the CRediT Taxonomy, the following roles are established:

At its maximum, it will be rejected and if it has already been published, the article will be removed from publication and a retraction will be made.
