a) Personal information

  • Names and surnames of the authors: as they want to be shown in the article. The order in which they are submitted will also be the order in which they will be published. Except for duly justified exceptions, Cuadernos de Investigación Educativa will accept contributions from up to 5 authors.
  • Institutional affiliation of all the authors. It refers to the institution where the authors work or study (in the case of students who publish in the journal). A dual affiliation will only be accepted if both institutions made a key contribution to the research.
  • Country where the institution/s detailed in the affiliation is/are located.
  • Email of all the authors.
  • ORCID of all the authors: in case they do not have one, they can request the identification number on the ORCID website.

  • Formal analysis: apply statistical techniques to analyze or synthesize the study data.
  • Financing: obtain financial support for the project to be carried out.

  • Visualization: prepare, create and present visual aids that allow visualizing the data and results.
  • Writing of the draft: write the initial draft of the article.
  • Review of the manuscript: comment, review and approve the final manuscript.

Important: the categorization is generic, so if there are roles that do not apply to the specific case of an article, it is not necessary to include them. Also an author can fulfill several roles, and/or a role can be performed by different authors.
For articles in English, the author contributions statement must also be specified in English.

Examples:

  • [Names and surnames of the author]: conceptualization, data curation, research, methodology design, administration, supervision, validation, visualization, writing of the draft and review of the manuscript.
  • [Names and surnames of the author]: data curation, research, visualization, writing of the draft and review of the manuscript.

c) Availability of data

Paragraph specifying whether the research dataset is available and, if so, where it can be accessed. For articles in English, the data availability statement must also be provided in this language.

Examples:

  • The dataset supporting the findings of this study is available at [XXX].
  • The dataset supporting the findings of this study is not publicly available.

d) Manuscript origin

If an article is based on a thesis, a conference presentation, or another type of contribution, authors must include an explanatory note indicating the first place where the manuscript was presented. Under no circumstances may the work retain the same title as its original version.

e) Funding

If the research received financial support, the name of the funding institution and, where applicable, the project number or reference must be specified.

If no specific funding was received, the following statement must be included: “This research received no external funding.”

If no conflicts exist, the following statement must be included: “The authors declare no conflict of interest.”

h) Preprints

If an article originally published as a preprint is submitted for review to Cuadernos de Investigación Educativa, it is necessary to state where and when the preprint was published and include the assigned DOI.
