Abstract

McKenzie Wark narrates, in the book Vaquera Invertida (Caja Negra, 2022), the previous years to her transition: throughout the book, a hybrid play riding between novel, essay and memoir, the writer tells her unsatisfied search for an identity which does not find space inside sex and gender binarism. It articulates a dysphoric eye, not understanding dysphoria as an individual illness, but as a way of no-recognition in the patriarchal and capitalist models.
